Childcare and Early Education Entitlements
I offer the following: the universal entitlement for all 3- and 4-year-olds; the extended entitlement for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds with working parents; and the 2-year-old entitlement.
The universal entitlement for all 3- and 4-year-olds & the 2-year-old entitlement - 570 free hours per year (also known as 15 hours free Government funding)
The extended entitlement for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds with working parents - 1140 free hours per year (also known as 30 hours free Government funding)
Parents will be required to fully complete a Parent Declaration Form in order for me to claim any funding and deliver funded care. When registering for a Government funded placement all forms need to be completed and paperwork checked before Reading Council’s official headcount date. Deposits, Sickness, Holidays & Other Charges
Deposit, Additional & Occasional Charges
It is my policy to charge a deposit of 4 weeks fees or 1 month’s fees, dependant on how you will be paying your fees. If your child is taking up a funded place, this deposit will be fully refunded when they take up their place as planned. Please see your contract for details of the different types of deposit.
I may make a charge for certain additional services, such as outings to attractions that have very expensive entrance fees. I will always speak to you in advance before booking outings or attractions that will incur additional fees.
Please note that if you are accessing one of the childcare and early years entitlements, that government funding is not intended to cover the cost of meals, other consumables, additional hours or additional services. If you are only accessing funded hours, then these charges are optional and are not a condition of accessing a free place. All additional charges will be itemised on your invoice. If you experience difficulties meeting the cost of these additional services, please speak to me.
There may be times that other fees are added to your monthly invoice. These may include:
Late collection fee: £5 per 15 minutes’ late collection.
I appreciate that there will be times when you are late due to unforeseen circumstances and I will of course continue to care for your child. A text is sufficient to let me know and give an estimated time of arrival. I hope you understand that additional charges may be applicable. It is no problem if you want to drop off later/collect earlier than your contracted hours. However, you will still have to pay for your contracted hours. I will always be at home when a child is due to be dropped off or collected but outside these times, you may have to come to where we are. It is not fair for the other children to miss out on our regular groups or cut short an outing because your child will be dropped off late/collected early.
Late payment fee: Late payment incurs a fee of £10.00 per week.
Unsociable hours: My usual working hours are from 07:30 until 18:30. If you require care outside of these hours, the fee will be £10 per hour.
Fees During Planned Holidays and Sickness
Childminder sickness: No fee charged & Parent/child sickness: Full fee charged
Childminder holiday: No fee charged & Parent/child holiday: Full fee charged
Bank holidays: No fee charged.
I take 10-15 days of holiday each year on average, for which no fee will be charged. I will normally share my holiday dates with you in January of each year. Parent/children’s holiday will incur a full charge, hence normal fees will apply. My setting is closed on bank and public holidays in England and no fees will apply. If you require childcare on a bank holiday, please let me know in advance and I will see what I can accommodate. Official bank holidays dates can be found on https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays
