Childcare - it's what I do

Aims and Objectives

The early years of life are one of the most important and with these values in mind, I aim to offer every child an environment which is full of exciting learning experiences, my setting provides a happy, safe and warm base which enables children to reach their full potential and equips them to be questioning, confident individuals with a positive attitude to life. I try to ensure that every child's learning and development is enhanced when attending my setting, I aim to achieve this by following the early years foundation stage.

Activities and outings

I provide a wide range of activities and attend a variety of outings with your child which are fun and educational. If you would like to discuss how a particular activity or outing benefits your child's development or how it links in to the foundation stage curriculum, I will be happy to discuss this with you at anytime.

A typical day

Every day is different, there is a basic framework to the way in which each day in my setting is structured however. My daily routine takes into account the requirements of each child, such as the arrival and departure times and care routines. Our days are busy and fun and have a good ratio of adult and child led activities.

Bright Room

My setting

I live in a lovely 3 bed property just off Christchurch Road. We have an enclosed garden and our playroom is full of toys and activities! We are 10 minutes away from Reading Station and 3-4 minutes from Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Snacks, meals and drinks

I provide all the children in my care with healthy homemade meals, snacks and drinks. I encourage children to choose healthy options and to experiment by trying new foods from other cultures. Older children are encouraged to help in the preparation of food and meals as well as preparing to eat and clearing away.
